Best Coffee in Prague: 11 Must-Try Specialty Cafes (2026)

Since we visited Colombia’s Coffee Region, we have been in love with high-quality coffee. Imagine our surprise when we discovered some of the best specialty coffee outside Colombia in Prague!

In fact, Prague is an undercover coffee lover’s dream.

Unlike cities like Vienna, well-known for their coffee culture, Prague flies under the radar. But don’t let that fool you!

Prague is full of excellent cafes and friendly baristas serving top-notch coffee at surprisingly reasonable prices. We were hooked.

From drip coffee and batch brews to pour-overs and flat whites, we really enjoyed getting our daily caffeine fix.

And the cafes? They were full of trendy interiors, often perfect for working and had cool vibes.

During our 10-day housesit in Prague, we set out on a mission to find the best cup in the city. Here are all the cafes we think serve the best coffee in Prague. Enjoy!

Tip: Coffee in Prague is well-priced for its quality. Expect to pay 75 CK (3 USD) per cup. Most of the cafes we visited are laptop-friendly and have free wifi!

1. Version Coffee

  • Our favorite cafe in Vinohrady!
  • Best for: Speciality coffee, beans, working, relaxing
  • Open: 8β€―am–7β€―pm daily
  • Location: AnglickΓ‘ 529/15, 120 00 Praha 2-Vinohrady (Google Maps)
  • Website & Menu: Version Coffee

Version Coffee is in Vinohrady, a hip residential area that I think has the best cafes in Prague. Vinohrady should also not be missed on your Prague itinerary.

This cafe is hip, big, beautifully decorated and has different seating areas set up. There is enough space to relax on a sofa or to get work done at a co-working table.

In some European cities, like in Amsterdam cafes, the space can be quite small. But not in Prague! Here, we often found the coffee shops to be spacious, with plenty of different seating options.

We ordered a pour-over coffee with Colombian beans and it was excellent. It was full of flavour and the beans were perfectly roasted.

Vision Coffee roasts its own beans, which you can buy in bags at their cafe. For each bag of beans you buy, you get a free coffee!

If you want to know more about their beans you can read about each roast, origin, process, and flavor profile on their website.

In my opinion, it is the best cafe in Prague!

Tip: If you’re looking for a great area to stay in Prague, I highly recommend Vinohrady. It’s a beautiful neighborhood with local vibes, great restaurants and excellent cafes just outside the main tourist zone. We did a housesit there and loved it!

Excellent V60 which we shared (coffee jitters!)

2. One Sip Coffee

  • Serve the best coffee in Prague!
  • Best for: Speciality Espresso, local vibes
  • Open: daily
  • 2 Locations: Vinohrady | Old Town
  • Website: One Sip

One Sip was the first cafe we visited in Prague because it was right next to the apartment we stayed in. It sparked our Prague coffee love!

The coffee here is excellent and full of flavor. It is not over roasted and you can tell the beans have been carefully picked.

One Sip specializes in making Espresso, so if you like strong brews, you will love it. They win our award for the best coffee in Prague πŸ†

We would put One Sip on number one on this list, but the seating area is less comfy than at Version Cafe. I like to be relaxed while sipping my coffee.

But if this is not the case and you love specialty coffee, then this is the place for you!

Tip: One Sip has two locations. The one in Vinohrady is nicely decorated and has a bigger seating area, whereas the one in Prague’s Old Town doesn’t. But both are excellent choices and you have some of the best coffee in Prague at each cafe.

3. Mama Coffee

Mama Coffee is a chain of cafes in Prague that has five locations. We visited the locations in Vinohrady (you can see we really love that area ☺️) and it was excellent.

The cafe there is close to a busy main road but the outdoor area is super green and an oasis away from the city noises. On a nice day, I recommend sitting outside.

We ordered the batch brew which is a popular option at most cafes in Prague. The coffee had a nice chocolatey flavor and was more than enough to share.

You should also check out their website, where you can buy Mama Coffee’s roasted beans and read about each farmer who produces them.

We love Mama Coffee’s ethical and sustainable practices behind every cup. Because let’s face it, coffee can have a very dark side (pun intended).

You can watch an excellent 30-minute video on it here:

4. La Boheme

  • Great Brunch Cafe in Prague
  • Best for: Speciality coffee, beans, brunch, socializing, working
  • Open: 8:30β€―am–8β€―pm daily
  • Location: SΓ‘zavskΓ‘ 2031/32, 120 00 Vinohrady (Google Maps)
  • Website & Shop: La Boheme

La Boheme is another amazing cafe in Vinohrady with a super beautiful and unique interior.

I especially liked the atmosphere there as it was different from the modern cafes that seem to have taken over Prague and many other European cities, like Amsterdam’s cafes.

The coffee is excellent and made from beans they roast themselves. We heard that the food is supposed to be very good too as it is a popular place for brunch.

We didn’t get a chance to sample the pastries but they looked amazing as well πŸ₯

The seating at La Boheme was very comfortable and it is a great place to unwind, relax with a coffee and people watch.

If you want to make good coffee at home, you can buy bags of beans in the cafe or on their website, together with many coffee accessories such as drippers, grinders and filters.

So if you are looking for a unique Prague souvenir, you might find it here!

Enjoying our cafe tips? Say thanks with a virtual coffee! πŸ’›

5. Super Tramp Coffee

  • Feels like being in Berlin
  • Best for: hidden gem vibes, specialty coffee
  • Open: 8β€―am–8β€―pm, Saturdays closed
  • Location: OpatovickΓ‘ 160, 110 00 NovΓ© MΔ›sto (Google Maps)
  • Instagram: Super Tramp

Super Tramp has some of the best coffee in Prague’s City Center which fits its name. To find the cafe you will have to walk down a sketchy and smelly alleyway πŸ˜…

It is not easy to find even with Google Maps! But you will see a run-down-looking alleyway when you are close. Walk it down, then turn left.

The cafe is in a courtyard surrounded by fairly dilapidated buildings. It reminded me of Berlin, where business owners turned a rundown old space into a trendy, cool area.

We once again chose the batch brew, Prague’s signature coffee. It was very fruity and the beans had a nice medium roast.

I recommend Super Tramp Coffee if you are in the historic center and want a cafe hidden away from the busy streets with some of Prague’s best coffee.

For example, you could combine a visit to Super Tramp with a guided walking tour. This street food tour starts nearby and will show you around the city center while sampling Czech delicacies.

❗️Update: Unfortunately Super Tramp Coffee closed its doors because a hotel will be built on its spot. But you can visit their second location close to Prague’s Dancing House called I Need Coffee. When we get the chance to visit it ourselves (soon) we will update this section.

Welcome to Berlin!

6. The Miners Coffee JZP

Miners Coffee is a cafe that has 13 locations in Prague alone. You’ll also find some branches in Vienna, Krakow, Barcelona and Brno.

We visited the one in Vinohrady and it is well set up for working online with big tables, fast wifi and sockets.

It had the vibe of a modern co-working space which seems to be their overall theme. One of their locations is even in a WeWork, a global coworking company!

Unfortunately, that means that there is not much cozy indoor seating if you just want a coffee and a chat. But there is seating out on the street for that.

The two other locations of Miners Coffee we came across are in the Old Town and across the Charles Bridge.

So if you are out sightseeing it is another solid caffeine option to stop for a rest.

Tip: Next to Miners Coffee Charles Bridge you can join a Guided Fat Tire E-Scooter Tour and explore Prague’s most iconic and less-traveled sights πŸ›΅ It looked like fun when we walked past!

7. Dos Mundos Coffee Roastery

  • Best for: Specialty coffee, beans, coffee workshops
  • Open: 8β€―am–7β€―pm, weekends 11β€―am–6β€―pm
  • Location: 31, KorunnΓ 968, 120 00 Praha 2 (Google Maps)
  • Website & Shop: Dos Mundos

Dos Mundos is a small cafe in Vinohrady that focuses on sourcing and roasting coffee beans ethically from all over the world.

It is a great place if you would like to get a specialty coffee and choose your own beans.

There are a few seats and tables inside and it is a great place to enjoy a coffee. It is also nice and quiet so it would be a good cafe to get some work done.

The walls are full of coffee accessories like filters and there is a world map showing the World’s Coffee Belt through Central America, Asia and Africa.

It’s a great place to learn a bit more about coffee and where your brew comes from. On their website, they also offer coffee courses and workshops by reservation only.

Stepping inside this cafe feels like stepping into the world of coffee, which makes this place extra special.

Tip: If you want to learn more about coffee and what makes a specialty coffee special, check out our coffee farm experience, where we explain everything from tree to cup πŸ§‘β€πŸŒΎπŸ«˜β˜•οΈ

8. Coffee Cube Black

  • Best for: Old-town sightseeing, people-watching
  • Open: 8:30β€―am–7β€―pm, weekends 10β€―am–6β€―pm
  • Location: Jungmannovo nΓ‘m. 6/767, 110 00 MΕ―stek (Google Maps)
  • Facebook: Coffee Cube Black

Coffee Cube Black is a little hole-in-the-wall cafe in the middle of Prague. It is an unassuming cafe but has some of the best coffee in Prague.

There are only a few seats on the footpath outside so it is a good spot to sit and people-watch.

We tried the batch brew here and it was excellent. And it came served looking like a whiskey! πŸ˜…

In the Google reviews, people loved the flat whites. So if you like your coffee milky this is also a great option to try.

Tip: Coffee Cube is close to a few hidden spots we recommend in our Prague Itinerary. It’s also next to the Palladium shopping mall where this Alternative Prague City Tour starts, covering local street art and one of our favorite areas in Prague.

9. Kolacherie

  • Prague Old Town Cafe with Czech Pastry
  • Best for: Coffee, trying Kolache
  • Open: 8:30β€―am–6β€―pm daily
  • Location: CeletnΓ‘ 589/27, 110 00 StarΓ© MΔ›sto (Google Maps)
  • Website & Menu: Kolacherie

Kolacherie is an awesome little cafe located next to the main square in Prague. The main attraction of coming to Kolacherie is to try a Kolache but their coffee is great too.

A Kolache is a traditional Czech pastry with a sweet filling. It can be filled with jam, custard, poppy seeds or cheese.

The most traditional that we tried was filled with sweet poppy seeds. It has a nice texture and wasn’t too sweet, which we like.

It was nice to try something traditional with a good cup of coffee so I highly recommend giving it a try.

There is not much seating at Kolacherie, so it is not the type of cafe to lounge around or work at. But it is a cute place to stop while sightseeing in town.

Tip: This top-rated walking tour starts close to Kolacherie and will bring you to all of Prague’s best sights. Alternatively, follow our DIY Prague itinerary for budget travelers.

10. Cafedu

  • Best for: Working, coffee, breakfast, snacks
  • Open: 7:30β€―am–10β€―pm, weekends 9 am–9β€―pm
  • Location: 12, Ε krΓ©tova 490, 120 00 Praha 2 (Google Maps)
  • Website & Menu: Cafedu

Cafedu is the best cafe in Prague if you are looking to work online. It is located next to the university so it is full of students working. It’s also close to Prague’s main train station.

The cafe was started by university students who wanted to provide a place for people to work. So if you are a digital nomad this is the place for you.

When we were at Cafedu, it felt like 90% of people were working, us included. So you will not feel any pressure to constantly buy anything and can just concentrate on your work.

On the contrary, it’s not a spot to unwind. It is not really a specialty coffee store but they have a big menu with great batch brews, americanos, lattes and snacks.

Tip: Cafedu is next to Prague’s main train station where we arrived from Vienna. If you’re heading there next, check out our Vienna Insider Tips and get your train tickets on Trainline in advance.

11. Letterpress Cafe

  • Best for: Coffee, cozy & arty vibes
  • Open: 7:30β€―am–6β€―pm, weekends 9β€―am–5β€―pm
  • Location: AmerickΓ‘ 16, 120 00 Vinohrady (Google Maps)
  • Website & Menu: Letterpress Cafe

Letterpress is a cute little cafe full of letterpress art hidden away in a quiet corner of Vinohrady.

The cafe has a small seating area underneath old brick arches. It is not a place to work but to relax.

We ordered an Americano and an Espresso and both were excellent.

The small space is beautifully decorated and it is a great spot to stop while exploring this part of Vinohrady.

You can buy letterpress items such as cards or book a workshop on their website to learn how to create personalized prints using traditional techniques.

While we were there, we saw the owner working on some delicate pieces, so it’s a great environment to unwind or be creative.

Tip: Letterpress Cafe is close to the Grotta which is a cool man-made cave in Grebovka Park. It’s a unique and interesting spot that you should visit while in Prague. We wrote more about it in our Vinohrady Insider Guide.
